Ananya Centre  for Special  Children
Ananya Centre  for Special  Childrenwas started by PRAVARA Educational Trust in April 2008. Ananya is a Learning Centre for Children with Special Needs especially children on Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). It is a non-profit organisation which intends to provide services to people who cannot afford special education for their children.
Ananya:

• provides a safe learning environment for all the children.
• faciliates learning by creating an individualised education plan (IEP) for each of its students.
• applies the techniques of ABA in teaching the individual educational goals on the IEP
• works on improving language, social skills by using Drama Techniques and Social Stories
• uses extralesson. The Extra Lesson™ was established over 20 years ago as an approach to working with children with learning and behavioral difficulties on a 1:1 basis with a professionally trained practitioner.
• uses iLS (Integrated Listening System). iLs programs “exercise” the visual, auditory, and balance systems simultaneously, improving mental & physical abilities as well as self-confidence.
• uses the principles of Relationship Development Intervention (RDI). RDI is a family-based program, where trained consultants support families to alter their interaction and communication styles.
• uses the objectives DIR®/Floortime™ Model in the class room. The objectives of the DIR®/Floortime™ Model are to build healthy foundations for social, emotional, and intellectual capacities rather than focusing on skills and isolated behaviors.
• conducts awareness building sessions for parents about how to cope with the pressures they face while bringing up Children with Autism.
• creates synergy by organising combined parent/teacher workshops on bringing up/teaching children with special needs and how parents and teachers can become excellent partners in this process.
• conducts workshops for teachers in working with children with Autism.
• invites specialists from the UK and the US and organises workshops for the parents, teachers and professionals.
• finds sponsors for children whose parents find it difficult to afford special education, behavioral and medical interventions.
• has a great team of Teachers, Educational Psychologists, Speech, Physio, Occupational Therapists, Nutritionists and Specialist Doctors.
